For prospective students

To prospective students applying from abroad:

We are open to accepting new students for Master's or Doctoral studies in our lab.

To be considered as a candidate, please check:

To understand what kind of research we do.

You will notice that we have three great themes with each faculty being the responsible person for one of them.

Send an email addressed to three faculty members, Prof. Nakano, Dr. Kato, and Dr. Damnjanovic, where you should:

  • Indicate the theme you are interested in,

  • Briefly describe your academic background (in a few sentences),

  • Attach your CV, academic transcript, and 1 A4 page tentative research proposal (do not exceed the page limit).

If we accept you as a candidate, we will write back with instructions for the next evaluation stage, the interview, where you are expected to present and discuss your previous/current research (not your future research plan).

After passing the interview, you are accepted to enter our lab.

Note:

Please note that our laboratory DOES NOT directly provide stipends or tuition coverage. We encourage students to apply for external scholarships (such as MEXT, JASSO, Make New Standard, or local government fellowships). For candidates who successfully pass our interview, we provide strong support for their scholarship applications, including recommendation letters and proposal feedback.

Thank you for your cooperation.
